         薛奇 教授、博士生导师。 19451月出生,1968毕业于 南京大学化学系有机化学专业,获学士学位。1979-1983就读于美国Case Western Reserved University高分子科学与工程系高分子化学与物理专业,师从著名光谱学家、美国工程院院士J. L. KoenigH. Ishida1983年获博士学位。指导下1983-19841989-1990分别在Case Western Reserved University任博士后及访问学者,从事高分子结构研究工作。1996年任美国University of Akron访问学者。1984年起就职于南京大学化学化工学院, 1988年起担任南京大学化学化工学院高分子系及配位化学国家重点实验室教授、高分子化学与物理专业学术带头人,曾任南京大学高分子科学与工程系系主任。现为中国化学会高分子学科委员会理事,Macromolecules编委会顾问,Frontiers of Chemistry in China杂志副主编,《高等学校化学学报》、Composite Interfaces Journal of Adhesion Science and Technology 等杂志编委。主持的项目《有机杂环化合物在金属表面的化学及电化学聚合》获得2004年国家自然科学二等奖。指导的学生金士、周东山曾获2001年和2005年全国优秀博士论文。

Research Interests

Structure and Dynamics of Geometrically Confined Polymers

    The methodological development for the characterization and control of polymer chain spatial proximity, and its relationship with polymer dynamics; The Jamming-unjamming transition of polymer chain under stress and its relationship with the chain’s cold flow behaviors, as new concept for the green processing of polymer materials.

Functional Conducting Polymers

    Designing and synthesizing the conducting polymer complex systems with engineered micro-structures to tailor the functionality of the complex system, for example, partially ordered layered, micro hollow spherical and fibrous complex particles derived from conducting polymers to interfere with electromagnetic waves; SERS active, bioactive conducting polymers.

Interfacial Structural Characterization and Control

   The methodological development for the characterization and control of polymer interfacial structures, interactions, transitions and reactions: including, Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS), sequence development for high speed spinning proton solid-state NMR, Non-Radiative Energy Transfer (NRET) fluorescence techniques, Vibrational Sum-Frequency Generation (SFG), and high speed temperature scanning and high sensitive nanocalorimetry; combination of these techniques provide multi- time and space scales of for the understanding of local ordering, relaxation and transitional behaviors of interfacial polymer chains.
